[ There's silence for quite a bit with just some quiet natural background noise, but then a gasp can clearly be heard. ] T-this place, where--? ... ... Heaven..?

[ The sound of someone standing up and then footsteps resounding against the stones. ]

But if it's heaven, then I.. ... Hmm.. [ The voice sounds a bit more doutful as the footsteps halt for a moment before continuing on. ]

Mom? [ The voice definitely sounds more excited. ] Mom! Mom, I'm here! It's me!

[ The excitement echoes away as she starts to sound a bit more insecure. The footsteps stop too, leaving a painful silence behind. ] Mom..? You're here, right? You're not hiding, are you..? You don't want to see me?

[ After a moment of silence she speaks up again. ] Dad? [ The voice gets softer and a tad more desperate too. ] Big bro?

[ She has a billion questions, but instead decides it might be better to answer first, especially since she's able to pick up the urgency she can hear. ]

Um.. There's this big stone building.. I can see houses, but they're further away.

[He nods, smiles, and sets off. The scenery behind him shifts as he moves, stone walls becoming clear sky.]

You woke up with a ring of twigs and berries on your head, right? Keep it on, okay?

I'm on my way to get you, so don't worry.

Oh wow! [ She hadn't even noticed yet because of being too occupied with the sudden scenery change. ] But.. I didn't put it there. ... Did you do that, big bro?

[There's a small black cat sitting at the edge of the forest a little way away.

It seems to be watching the little girl quite intently.]

[He holds his own up for a moment, then his pace quickens as he reaches the path to the temple.]

[ After a few moments she notices the cat and stands still, staring back at it. She seems a bit surprised by its appearance, but takes a few small steps towards it nonetheless and squats down to be on a more even level, even at a small distance still. ]

Hmm.. [ She frowns lightly, as if she's thinking about something. ] Hey kitty, do cats go to heaven too..? [ Or wasn't it heaven at all? She still didn't know. ]

[ Fine, then she'll just go down the list of people who she thinks could've done it. He seems to know more about this place than she does, after all. (Why?) ]

Did dad do it then? [ And after a slight moment of hesitation. ] Or mom..?

[Have a young girl's voice in return, sounding worried for you.]

No be sad! You okay?

[Have a kindly voice, heavily accented but attempting to be soothing.]

Oh! Are you alright little one?

[ After a small moment of surprise and figuring that the voice is coming from the device she answers. ]

Um.. I'm okay.. [ Dad always says she's not supposed to talk to strangers, but in this kind of situation it should be okay, right? ] ... I'm looking for mom.

[ There's silence for a few moments, she's always a bit uncomfortable around strangers and doesn't really want to admit her current situation. But this person sounds nice, so.. ]

... I-It's okay. I'm just lost.

[He hesitates before answering that. It's a tough thing to answer, after all.]

No. Someone else who wants to help us. I can explain more when I get there, alright?

[The cat stays where it is for the moment, head tilting, perhaps inquisitive. It replies to her question with a little 'mew', tail flicking.]

Okay.. [ There's a hint of sulking in it, but she does understand that it probably wouldn't be easy to explain it like this. ]

[ She's now sitting on the ground again instead of wandering around, she has probably figured it's the best way for him to easily find her. She's holding the communicator with both hands, watching it intensely as if it's her safeguard in this unknown place. ]

[He's all but running up the slope now - soon, his footsteps can be heard. When he crests the top of the hill, he looks around for a moment before catching sight of her. His shoulders sag in relief, as if he's sighing - and then he sprints the rest of the distance, dropping to his knees and opening his arms.]

Looking for mama? Me too!

[Her voice is a little sad for a moment before perking a little.]

You couldn't answer even if you knew, right? [ Her look turns slightly pouty but is still curious as well. She sits down on the ground instead of squatting. ]

[ The moment she spots him her expression lights up. she drops the communicator instantly, letting it lie there on the ground for now, and hurries towards him, nearly tripping over her own feet in her attempt to hurry. The moment she reaches him she jumps into his arms, looking extremely relieved and clings to him as much as possible. ]
