Character: Nanako Dojima
Fandom: Persona 4
Age:
Personality: First of all, Nanako is a young girl. She's clueless about some things that are pretty normal just like most young kids are, to a point where she wonders if the weather person on television is the one who controls the weather. She's very innocent, naive and gullible, easily going along with things that people tell her. Nanako seems to like learning new things though, this shows when the protagonist helps her with her homework and her love for quiz shows which she often gets absorbed in.
She's a cute girl and very shy to people when she meets them for the first time, but when she opens up she's very friendly and gets deeply attached to people, hoping to spend as much time as possible with them because her father usually doesn't have time for her because of his work. She doesn't force herself onto others though, since she's used to being alone now and used tohaving to understand that people are busy. Because of that loneliness the television has been acting as a sort of surrogate parent instead of her dead mother and busy father; Nanako is a prime example of a child that grew up with the television. Whenever she's alone she's usually watching television and has even developed a love for the department store Junes because of their commercials and catchy jingle (everyday's great at your Junes~!) which she always happily sings along.
In some ways she's also very mature. Because she's usually home alone Nanako has learned to take care of herself. She is the one who does the cooking and cleaning around the house and watches the house when everyone else is gone. She doesn't seem bothered that she has to do all of this though; the thing that bothers her is usually the loneliness instead. But she tries to cover this up through saying that even though her dad is usually gone, she still has him and her 'big bro': her cousin Souji who she has grown incredibly attached to. She sometimes worries about her father never coming home too, wondering if it's her fault that he doesn't come back. When Souji takes her out to meet the other members of the investigation team she quickly gets friendly with all of them though, especially with Teddie.
Nanako tends to be a bit obsessed with the afterlife at times. This is due to her mother's death, something she can't quite grasp yet at her age yet has problems with. She often asks questions about why people have to die, where they go after they die, where good people and bad people go etcetera. (She's also connected to the Justice Arcana in the game and most Justice Persona are angels in one way or another, which only presses this point more.) She misses her mother a lot but she can't do anything about it. When Nanako gets thrown into the television after she is kidnapped the dungeon that is formed from her mind is also called Heaven and is a lot like the traditional (kiddy) view of heaven with blue skies, clouds, lots rainbows and flowers, indicating her innocence and her longing to see her mother again in any way.
History: Found here. Nanako is taken from a little bit before she gets kidnapped and thrown into the TV, so she is from around the end of October in game time.
Abilities: Nanako doesn't have any real abilities, she's just a regular seven year old girl. Because of that she's pretty weak and can't fight at all. She's very independant though; because of her mother's death and her dad's job she was always forced to do all the work around the house. So she's very skilled in cooking and cleaning, especially for a girl her age.
