interlude;; ☁ [ everyday replay ]

[ The situation you step into in the dream is rather peaceful, rather normal. It's just a regular bedroom, probably a little girl's if you judge from the amount of pink and the various dolls and glittery drawings lying around all over the place. In fact, it's Nanako's room from back home, since you might spot her sitting in her bed in pink pajamas. Or perhaps you just recognize the room itself if you've ever been at the Dojima household in Inaba. A man sits on the edge of her bed a little, frowning. ]

You can't sleep, Nanako?

[ The girl nods, looking a bit unsure. ] ... U-uh-huh.. It's because I'm sort of scared of the monster under the bed..

A monster? [ The man - Dojima - scratches his stubbly chin, giving the bed an observing look. For a moment he hesitates since it almost seems ridiculous to go along with kid fantasies about monsters, but hey, a parent has to do this much, right? And if it means she'll feel okayt enough to sleep after it.. ] Hm, don't worry. I'll take care of it.

[ As Nanako's look gets very expectant, he gets off the bed and instead squats down on the ground, looking under the bed before telling the 'monster' to go away with the most authority-like voice he can manage. (It's pretty impressive, considering he is on the police force, after all.) Then he gets up again, giving Nanako a small smile and a pat on the head. ]

There, I'm sure it's gone now. Sleep well, okay?

[ In response the girl gives a weak nod. And with that the man leaves the room, turning off the lights.

... But only a moment after she starts lying down, the girl is still sitting up in bed rather than going to sleep, still looking unsure and trying to take a peek at what's below her bed instead. She still doesn't seem so convinced that the 'monster' is truly gone, perhaps, if the look on her face is something to go by.

Perhaps you should help her out instead. ]
